Tho if you have a raider attacking one turret, and a different one targets the raider, it may be possible for the missed projectiles to damage the turret being attacked. Turrets don't benefit from cover. For extra chances make sure your guys are in darkness and enemies are lit. I didnt know turrets didnt benefit from being behind sandbags.
